An extremely rare and very desirable 1968 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust in 18k yellow gold reference 1601 with a crazy rare "Obsidian" dial in perfect condition, no cracks and no hairlines displaying a marvelous charcoal pattern. Black Obsidian - also known as volcanic glass - is formed from molten lava that has cooled very quickly. Directly from a volcano, black obsidian is unique and combines the elements of earth, water and fire. However after recent investigations on these "Obsidian" dials, it would appear that these are in fact Tropical Onyx dials. The watch is in excellent condition showing light signs of age and or scratches and no stretch on the bracelet. All watches are checked by our watchmaker and guaranteed 3 months, 1 year if serviced. This reference has been serviced and is mechanically guaranteed 1 year.
